General Operations

We are currently open Tuesdays through Sundays from 12-6pm. 

We also offer store pickup and USPS shipping. Orders are processed every day that we’re open.

--  R E T U R N  P O L I C Y  --

Refunds are gladly given for new, unused products in pristine condition within X days of purchase. X is determined by how your order is placed:

+ USPS Shipping - 21 days from the day your order is purchased.

+ All Other Purchase Methods - 14 days from the day your order is bought, picked up or delivered.

Bath & Body, Edibles, Plants, Cloth Masks, Blind Boxes, and Final Sale items are not eligible for return. Apparel items must have the original tags attached to be eligible for return and may only have been tried on, not worn out.

Priority Mail shipments include insurance for up to $50 worth of lost or damaged goods. Please note that First Class shipments do not include insurance; thus, as a result, we are not responsible for lost packages and cannot offer refunds beyond these parameters. With this in mind, if you do not receive your order, please get in touch right away, and we will do our best to figure out what happened!

--  W H O  W E  A R E  --

     Matt "Magpie" Ortega (they/it) and Mynt Ortega (she/they) are the Head Mice of Modern Mouse! They decided to take over company founder Eleen's vision in April of 2017 after years of being loyal customers, then employees. Together, they manage staff, accept new artists to the roster, and facilitate all other day-to-day operations. :)

     Modern Mouse offers a fun, stylish and creative collection of high-quality, modern handmade goods made by independent artists and small manufacturers across the USA. We’re drawn to simple items that make us smile and find it pleasing to sprinkle beautiful handmade objects amidst a sea of mass produced product in this day and age.

     We delight in the special, unique nature of handcrafted objects and are inspired by the idea of them being produced one at a time in the tiny studios of individual artists (or more often than not, at dining tables or small desks) in homes perhaps just miles from our own.

     Visit our brick-and-mortar store to see work from over 290 talented artists, or shop a hand-picked, limited selection of our items here in our webstore! You'll find home goods, jewelry, local apparel and special occasion gifts... something for just about everyone!

Location

    We are located within the scenic South Shore Center of Alameda, just a short walk away from the waterfront! For the shortest trek, please park in front of West Marine or Safeway, and use the nearest breezeway to the heart of the Center, where we are located (right next to Great Clips, and right across from FAAS South Shore). We look forward to seeing you soon! :)

     Please note that we are CLOSED on most Federal Holidays (our staff will choose whether or not to be open on some, such as 4th of July). We also close early or stay open later in observance of certain holidays and occasions. For more info, please connect with us through social media or email.
